Board members of Canoe Mountain Resort have denied rumours that the planned gondola resort project 5 km south of Valemount has been sold. Both board member Lisa Levasseur and vice president Pat Crowley said that the rumours are just that and nothing more.

A rumour circulating in Valemount alleged that an Alberta-based construction company purchased the project.

“There certainly is no truth to the story, so my guess is it is all just gossip,” said Levasseur.

However, work at the Canoe Mountain Resort construction site has yet to begin this season.

“We have to complete a couple of projects at Terracana which should only take another week or two, and then we expect to be back working on the mountain,” she said.
