Irvin Leroux will be in Valemount for Wednesday night’s meeting regarding the rezoning of his property to allow for a water bottling plant.

“Right now we are going to cancel the rezoning application until such time as we have the test results back,” he said.

He said that when they go through the process next time they will have officials on hand who can answer questions that local people have.

“That will put to rest all the concerns,” he said.

“Right now we have put up 50% of the money and our investors going to put up 50% of the money. They have not got their dollars in place yet,” he said.

He said he wants to make sure that the project is feasible and that the aquifer will support what they hope to do.

Leroux said that it is going to cost $100,000 to do the tests they want done.

“We can do a simple aquifer test and it would probably cost us $15,000. We are not about to do that,” he said. “We want to go the full ten yards and we’ve got quotes in place now and they are close to $100,000 to do what we want done.”

“We’re not just going to a part of it to pacify a few people. We want to make sure 100% that our concerns are addressed,” he said. “Addressing our concerns will address the concerns of those who have gone to the meeting and have been asking questions.”

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Valemount Community Hall.
