In response to the remarks made by our leaders in the June 26,2007 issue of the Robson Valley Times concerning an explosives manufacturing plant; it becomes quite apparent to me who the real cavemen are.

But to label our leaders cavemen would be giving them more status than they really deserve. If they are so concerned about the future of our valley, then they should be addressing the real issues of making sure that we have clean air, water and yes, trees to give to our children when we are no longer around. Yes, I know it has been said many times, put it in your backyard, not mine, if you think it is a good idea. But judging from the intelligence level that they have displayed they probably would put it in their backyard. And as much as I could resent being called a caveman, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone especially those people who can’t see the negative impact that such a plant would have on our environment. A caveman would have more sense than that. At least he would know that to jeopardise the integrity of the land that sustains him would be a bad move.
