As the snow pack melts and the rivers expand, people from all walks are beginning to take notice.
It’s a time of flooding, slides and washouts. When these things begin to happen, everyone is at risk of falling victim to the destruction they bring. Machine power, manpower nor money can guarantee our safety in these times.
We depend on roads being there to get from one place to the other. Bridges are part of that road system. When the bridge is threatened, the traffic flow stops. We become stranded on either side of it. All we can do is watch and wait as we anxiously anticipate reconnection with the rest of the world beyond the bridge.
We know the story in the Bible, how Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God. By doing so they severed their fellowship with God and their relationship had to somehow be repaired. God came down to earth in the form of man. Jesus became the human bridge paving the way for man and God to once again cross over and have fellowship. The Bible tells us in 1st Timothy Ch 2:5 “For there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and people. He is the man Jesus Christ”.
When Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected from the dead, he became the source of transportation for our prayers and petitions to reach God. There were no more barriers in the way. The road was now clear, and nothing in this world can wipe this bridge out. It’s firm and unmovable. There is no room for doubt when you rely on this bridge.
In the world, everything can be taken from us. Our securities can be wiped away in a flash. There is a peace in knowing that the Lord is a solid dependable bridge that will always be there, no matter what time of year. How solid is the bridge you use to travel on to talk to God?
