Record heat in Crescent Spur PDF Print E-mail

By Rick Zammuto

The Crescent Spur ECAN Weather Station recorded an all time record maximum temperature of 36.5 degrees C on Friday, 13 July 2007.

The former maximum extreme daily temperature was 35 degrees for Crescent Spur on 3 August 1998, and 35 degrees for Dome Creek and McBride during August 1990. Apparently, the 36.5 degrees was also the highest maximum temperature ever recorded at any ECAN weather station in the Upper Fraser River for any month since records began in the 1940’s. However, the record still has to be officially confirmed by ECAN for Dome Creek, McBride, Mt Robson, and Prince George Airport Stations from the unpublished records between 2001-2006.
